Asteta was founded in 2006 by a group of industry executives. They recognized the growing need for companies to develop applications to support their offering and at the same time saw a barrier to entry for those customers to build internal teams. Diversity of platforms, specific expertise required for effective development and rigorous quality standards demanded higher cost levels that many customers could afford in-house.

The founders created an offshore location in Russia and built a strong Agile process for the teams to follow during software development. Over time the team grew to include over 100 experts in software development with expertise in major ecosystems, stellar client list and ability to execute projects end-to-end – from idea to placement in app stores.
